On March 26th, 2011, hundreds of thousands of people from all across the UK converged on London in protest against the actions of government and corporations that mean we the people suffer for their benefit. Working with unions, Aber Students Against Cuts enabled up to 300 people from Ceredigion to join those 500,000 people in the British capital.
Ending a month-long occupation at 4am to begin the trek to march for the alternative, Aber Students Against Cuts bridged the local impact with the national picture. The economic policies of the Coalition Government spell disaster for the public sector, for education, and for society as a whole. The cuts affect everyone, from a new-born baby in Aberdeen, to a 21 year old student in Aberystwyth, to a 78 year old pensioner from Hackney. We must and shall continue to oppose the cuts both locally, and nationally.
